Our new Public Specifications Sharing feature enables Clarifruit customers to export and share account specifications with other Clarifruit customer accounts, facilitating the sharing of inspection processes, standards, and settings, either as public or password-protected access. This allows customers to use the same processes and standards for creating inspections.

-
Share Partial Specifications via a Sub-Account:
- For more controlled sharing, create a sub-account containing only the specifications you wish to share. You can then export specs from the sub-account, keeping the main account specs private.
How to Use Public Specifications
Customers can import shared specifications to create inspections that align with the public processes and standards of other accounts. Imported specs cannot be modified, ensuring the consistency of inspection criteria.
-
Import Public Specifications:
- Go to Settings > Company > Public Specs and choose the specification to import.
- Import is only available if the account has no existing specs or custom settings. If the account has existing configurations, an option to Reset the Account will appear below the import section. Resetting will clear all current specs and settings to allow for importing new public specs.
- Go to Settings > Company > Public Specs and choose the specification to import.
-
Password Entry for Protected Specs:
- If the specifications are password-protected, the system will prompt you to enter the password.
- If the specifications are password-protected, the system will prompt you to enter the password.
-
Using Multiple Specifications:
- If a customer wants to work with multiple public specifications and maintain their own custom process, they can create separate sub-accounts. Each sub-account can import different public specifications, allowing for diverse inspection processes within the main account structure.
Transitioning from Public to Custom Specifications
If a customer decides to stop using a public specification in a specific account, they can cancel the import and delete the selected imported account. The system offers the option to copy the public specification into the account:
- When a specification is copied, it is no longer linked to updates from the original publisher, allowing for customization.
- Once copied, the specification becomes open for modification, giving the customer full control over the imported standards.
Editable Settings During Import
While using an imported public specification, customers cannot alter the core imported specs. However, the following settings remain accessible and editable:
- Company Settings
- QC Report
- Users
- Integration
- Notification Groups
This feature allows for flexible adoption and management of shared processes across accounts, supporting consistency and efficiency on the Clarifruit platform.
